Abraham Lincoln was probably Deist. Einstein was either pantheist or agnostic. Ben Franklin believed in a god but rejected a lot of church stuff. Darwin was agnostic.

I hate these sort of things because it paints atheists badly. It's important, particularly if you're in the minority or on the skeptic side of the popular position, to get your facts straight. You will otherwise be dismissed immediately, including by who would be your peers. Einstein was not an atheist. He was also not Jewish. He was very upset with people misrepresenting his religious beliefs. His position was that he felt there was a supernatural force that put the universe into motion. Einstein's last book he states "the universe is by desgn not, not random acts." Seams he may have changed his mind later in life, or as he became wiser.

Einstein's theory's of universal creation fall short. He believed in god so much that he refused to believe that the universe was continuously expanding because that would mean that the universe was created at some point in time and not something that always was and always will be. Theres evidence that the universe definitely IS expanding and WILL stop and shrink back down to its original size. Thats the Big Bang Theory and this poster is fail. Get some real atheists.

Deists and atheists are functionally the same, because both believe that God does not interfere with human affairs, and both reject the supernatural. These guys, at best, were Deists. They were definitely NOT religious. And Einstein did not believe in god; whenever he referenced god he was merely talking about his admiration for the universe and its laws. Einstein: "It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. Just because Einstein did not believe in RELIGION, it doesn't mean he doesn't believe in GOD. The whole point of a PERSONAL god is to distinguish between the god he DOES believe in (theoretically). And making an almost point about one person doesn't make it true for all. Ben Franklin believes in God. He hated the Christian dogma and found certain things useless.

Yes, they believed there was a creator of the world, but he left and let us do as we wish. However, it has been speculated that they believed this because it was unanswerable at the time. If they were alive today with all of the current scientific findings and such, they might be atheists.
There is little practical difference between deism, atheism, and agnosticism. All focus on the material now world when dealing with other people. Thgey are different in name alone.

Lincoln, Einstein, Twain, Jefferson, Ben Franklin weren't atheists.
Franklin and Jefferson were Deist, like most the founding fathers. Lincoln was a Deist as well. Twain was too intellectual to be caught up with the idea of there being or not being a God; same with Darwin except he proposed the theory of evolution, the Atheist's bible. Albert Einstein IS an atheist.

epic fail on your part, none, literaly none of these people were atheists. einstein said that all of the things he discovered were because he thought if he were god how would i would make the universe. lincoln turned to god constantly during the civil war. and darwin constantly wrote about his belief in god. pick up a book and read about these men for once, dont just assume things. just because people have used evolution as a front for atheism doesnt mean that that was darwins intentions. darwin constantly wrote about how god was amazing to have come up with such creatures. he wrote that even though he was tracking the origin of species and the timeline of animals that it was god who laid the groundwork and it was GOD that initiated evolution.

I like this poster. If all the people in this poster were atheists, I'd really like it. Basically, I like what this poster is trying to say (or what I think it's trying to say), I'd just like it more if all of them were open atheists.

first,Einsteins quest was to find god. In fact, he firmly beleived in the steady-state theory as appose to the big-bang theory BECAUSE of the fact that he did not beleive

It really doesnt matter wether this men are atheists or not. We can also think in other geniouses that werent, like Leibniz, Newton, Descartes, Aristotle or Gödel. So we are able to do a poster with portraits of this men and say: Theism, good enough for these idiots. ¿That will proof the existence of God? At least as much as yours proofs his non existence.
