What I love about atheism is that they can't stand the fact that someone is happy, or content in something. What difference does it make what someone else believes? Have fun living a very incomplete life.

Of course there isn't a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. People act like rainbows are stationary structures rather than a play of light and water particles that changes depending on where you're standing.

SCIENCE approaches being right as t approaches infinity, step by step. The point of SCIENCE is it admits having been 'wrong' and takes another step closer to being right, unlike religion which claims to be 100% right about everything already and never budges.

Everyone is an Athiest. I just belive in one less god than the rest. Once everyone discovers why they don't believe in other gods. Then they will understand why I don't believe in their god.

U know that religion ( for ex. catholicism ) don't tell that other "gods" dont exist? It is telling that we all belive in the same God. Every religion just see Lord in other ways.

I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.

My favorite part of Christianity is how God doesn't mind just hangin out and letting so many people suffer until he feels like doing something about it.
christianity says believing in other gods is a sin which has only one punishment: execution. christianity is insanity on a large scale. but so is every religion. religion should not be respected, but treated as the mindvirus it is. indoctrinating children as early as possible, talking about nonsense as if it were actually real.
most religious people also claim that they get their morals from the bible, but the bible is one long list of things that you must not do or suffer execution, or if you're unfortunate enough to live in a place that god has given to someone else you're just going to get slaughtered.
on top of that there's the idea that human sacrifice is good and cool, oh god didn't want abraham to kill his son after all, but in other cases he didn't step in when people wanted to sacrifice their children to him... it's all in there. Then there's the concept of original sin which is completely grotesque, and the entire obsession with sin. why is god so obsessed with what people do in the privacy of their bedroom? Oh, ok, so you don't count the parts that say you must execute homosexuals, or people who work on the sabbath...
but then, if you pick and choose from the bible which pieces are moral and worthy of living by, and treating others as immoral, then where are your morals really coming from? surely not from the bible.

What's the point of arguing about weather or not your god is real or not. If the Christians are right and God is real than those who try and prove there is no god will go to hell and the Christians will live forever in happiness. If the Christians are wrong then we all die anyways and nothing happens at all, I would personally love to believe that this life doesn't just end with death and that it was all meaningless but to say one God is right and others are fake/wrong is also wrong. Just because you have a faith doesn't mean the others are wrong just that you look at life differently. We are all just hoping for light at the end of the tunnel. It is all just something to cling onto because we fear death and with something to look forward to we don't need to worry about that and we can just live our lives. Stop fighting it causes nothing but wars and pointless hatred. We don't need to kill each other and fight about that which we use as a bedtime story. Why fight over the life and death of a man thought to be a god. Why tell the Christians, or any religious group, their god doesn't exist. Just live in harmony. Isn't that what we all want anyways?

I dont like how atheism can sometimes lead to belittling of belief - 'There is no God and you're stupid for believing so...' In a world like this, you need faith in something. I dont like how religion can sometimes lead to people closing off their mind and just believing what they're told. Its when we stop questioning things that progressive society comes to a standstill. I've witnessed conversations where members of the church have exploded because they have been asked if, with modern science being what it is, and the obvious presence of it in nature as a whole, if they are willing to accept the *possibility* that we could have evolved as we do not have all the answers.

as far as im concerned, its fine if u believe or u don't, its ignorance that's the problem. I find the problem with many athiests is that, just like many christians appealing only to the authority of god, they appeal only to science, which im not saying is wrong, but because it can be proven they want to be on the "smart" or "right" side of things, even though science and many religions are compatible as long as you take scripture with a grain of salt.
It's not the concept of God or Jesus or whathef✡✞kever that I'm bothered with, it's just the fact that Christians seem to find it neccessary to force this whathef✡✞kevery on everyone else they meet. To draw from your example, Buddhists just don't do that. It's true: many religions consider themselves as the best. That's why it's easiest for me to take the middle ground and watch you guys kick the shit out of each other because the voices in your heads told you to. I don't want to be a part of that.
Also: I've never been able to beleive in ANY higher power, not just branches of Christianity. People usually target Christianity because its members are so... enthusiastic.
